Studies on Efficient Algorithms for Inverse Scattering Problems by Infinite Rough Surfaces 

  

Abstract: This project is devoted to studying the efficient algorithms for the inverse scattering problems by infinite rough surfaces in the cases of two and three dimensions. We hope to reconstruct the unbounded interfaces from near-field data that measured in the upper half space. The aim of the research is as follows. (1) We study the fast numerical method for the forward scattering problems by infinite rough surfaces. Based on this, we set up the iterative algorithms for the inverse scattering problems by using the regularization method. (2) By using the ideas of linear sampling method, factorization method and direct imaging method, we build the suitable indicator functions. Then we study the properties of the indicator functions when the sampling points get close to the boundaries. And based on this, we establish the non-iterative algorithms for reconstructing the unbounded interfaces. The study of this project will be valuable and helpful in many fields such as geological exploration and satellite remote sensing.
