The 21st International Conference on Digital Signal Processing, organized by the Center for Research on Intelligent Perception and Computing (CRIPAC), Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), was successfully held in Beijing International Conference Center from October 16 to October 18. This conference invited three experts in digital signal processing to give three keynote speeches. Prof. José M. F. Moura who came from Carnegie Mellon University made a keynote speech about “Signal Processing on Graphs”. Prof. Danilo who came from Imperial College London made a keynote speech about “Signal Processing for Wearable Health”. Prof. Marios M. Polycarpou who came from University of Cyprus made a keynote speech about “Intelligent Fault Monitoring of Critical Infrastructure Systems”. Apart from the reports in the main convention hall, there were three oral convention halls and a poster convention hall. In the keynote sessions, the oral sessions and the poster sessions, the speakers introduced their reports in detail, while the attendees carefully listened to their reports and actively exchanged their ideas with the speakers. The award ceremony was held at the banquet on October 17, Prof. Tieniu Tan and Prof. Tony present awards “Best Student Paper Honorable Mention”, “Best Student Paper Award”, “Best Paper Honorable Mention” and “Best Paper Award”. After the award ceremony, the attendees enjoyed the featured performances of China, such as Sichuan face changing, acrobatics and magic, which showed the quintessence of Chinese culture. The superb performances were received with warm applause. More than 100 experts and scholars attended the conference. The in-depth discussions among the attendees effectively advanced the research on digital signal processing. |
