On 2nd, July, 2008, a grand ceremony is held to celebrate that LIAMA is granted the honor of “National Center for International Research”. This honor is set by the Ministry of Science and Technology to praise those who have made great achievements in international science collaboration. Only a few institutes and universities are granted this honor in China. SHANG Yong, Vice-minister of Ministry of Science and Technology, Herve Ladous, Ambassador of France to China attended the ceremony. Partners from China, France and the EU also joined the celebration. In LIAMA’s 11 year history, over 1000 research staff took part in over 100 projects. Those projects cover fields of information, biology, natural environment and other cross-disciplinary areas. LIAMA has become an important bridge connecting the scientific and technological fields from China and France. The honor granted to LIAMA is a confirmation for its achievements and an encouragement for its further development.
