The Sino-French Laboratory in Computer Science, Automation and Applied Mathematics (LIAMA) was created in 1997 by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control (INRIA) as a permanent research co-operation bilateral structure. Their cooperation entered the third phase at the beginning of 2005.
